Roosevelt Scott

Roosevelt (Rosie) Scott (a lifetime member of the NRA) started his personal protection journey while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps; Ooo-Rah!

During his tenure in the Marines, Roosevelt began training to teach everything from small arms (handguns) to heavy machine guns.

While in the Marines, Roosevelt continued his training in personal protection, as part of a Special Response Team (SRT), who provided security for executives of the U.S. Department of Energy. While a member, and later team leader of the SRT, Roosevelt trained with such teams as the L.A.P.D. SWAT, British Special Air Service (S.A.S), the FBI'S Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), the Israeli Anti-terrorist Team and numerous specialized teams from all over the United States. After the September 11, 2001 massacre, Roosevelt worked with a security detail to provide protection for executives at Disney, Sony, Paramount and Warner Brother Studios and Warner Brother Records. After completing a thirteen year tour in the Marine Corps, Roosevelt settled down and went to work as a police officer at the Bakersfield Police Department.

After serving 10 years on the police force, Roosevelt was medically retired due to an injury he sustained in the line of duty. He took a short hiatus and joined the Kern County District Attorney’s office as an Investigator, where he worked for 12 years. Roosevelt is a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certified Rangemaster, and a P.O.S.T. certified Handgun, Rifle and Shotgun instructor. One of Roosevelt's other duties at the D.A.'S office was Terrorism Liaison Officer (TLO). As one of the TLO'S, he networked with agencies, both public and private, who came together as one under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to combat terrorism. After more than twenty-five years of personal protection and law enforcement work, Roosevelt and Steven joined together to form Triple Threat Solutions.

Roosevelt earned a dual major Associates Degree from Bakersfield College in Psychology and Administration of Justice. Roosevelt also still serves with the U.S. military, only this time, providing weapons instruction and training to deploying and home based California National Guard and California Air Guard troops.

Danny Lack and Rosie have been friends for many years.  Several years ago when Rosie began teaching CCW classes, Danny offered to share his firearms skills and began working with Rosie coaching CCW class participants.  Knowing Danny's background in martial arts and his expertise with firearms, Rosie did not hesitate to ask Danny if he would come on-board as an instructor with Triple Threat Solutions.

Danny began learning the finer points of self defense at a young age. The son of a Sherriff’s Deputy, he was taught self defense and firearms starting with the basics and working his way up. Over time, Danny sought professional training in Martial Arts and earned rankings that allowed him to compete in invitational tournaments in California and Nevada. He has also taught children’s martial art classes.

When Danny enlisted into the United States Navy he brought with him many years of experience with firearms. That training was amplified as he was taught to use military platform weapons. To date, Danny has received training from military, law enforcement and civilian instructors and rangemasters. He has taught firearms since 2009 and is also a Life member of the NRA.

Danny is a certified Respiratory Therapist caring for patients in Kern County. Since 2000, Danny has volunteered as a First Aid and CPR instructor for the American Red Cross and helps teach the Awana’s program at the Church he attends.

Danny's background in martial arts is part of the reason why Triple Threat Solutions offers an unarmed Self defense class for those who prefer not to carry or even own a firearm.  Danny's training in martial arts is also incorporated into the "Fighting with your weapon" class.  This provides options to intended victims, showing them ways to get away from a bad guy who has grabbed them, whether the victim is armed with a weapon or not.
